My website...
My website URL currently is the bottom link with square space but the URL im trying to connect is the top link. Although UK2 have not replied to me in regards to connecting them both, which is very annoying; so currently my URL is @squarespace.
I have ordered business cards with the top URL but I have not retrieved them so in terms of giving them out I dont have to worry about my website not matching the url.

Business Cards
Business Cards that I have ordered to promote my work. I have added my website and email address that I will use for the next four years for my business.
Made from Moo.com.
Ren Love Photography - New Website!
I have now re-created my website on square space as it is a much better layout and alot easier to use. I have added two series of work, narrative and situated practice; so that I have two sets to begin with before adding any of the wedding photography that I did over the summer of july last year.
The images are big which is what I like because then all the detail in the drawings are clearly seen on the screen. I have also put them onto a slide show so that the three images are seen than just the one, especially if there happens to be any problems with clicking to the next image; the slide show will do that for the viewer.

Changing from ClikPic to Square Space.
I tried to use ClikPic but they are to confusing to understand, I am unable to work with the website easily. So I have been recommended to try out Square space which give you a trial of 2 weeks but the price will be £60 per year. I will sacrifice an extra £20 if I am confident I can use the website effectively. Hopefully this website builder will be alot more useful to me to make an effective cheap website with my own domain name.
Changing my website from Wix to Clicpic
When I looked into the pricing of my website again I went through the process and they added £12 VAT which made making my website alot more expensive. I researched briefly again and went through my blog again and found clikpic, which is £40 a year for the basic package. Which is alot better than wix and their basic package.
So I decided to take a two week trial with clikpic to see if they are better than wix when creating the website as well as the price.

Wedding Photography Research
I started to look in to other wedding photographers that I could gain work experience from, hoping that there is one closer to home that I would be lucky enough with. I did a general search online for fantasy/fairytale based photographers, to know how many people in the world consider themselves to be categorical within this theme. I found a few people who create images based on faiytales but most of the photographers created the work a few years back and haven't really continued since. One of the photographers I found was from USA and doesnt look to have done any weddings for a least a few years but has kept a blog and site up and running continuously anyway. The photographer is called Nashville, the images of the weddings I have chosen are beneath.

The photographs that she takes are different from Gome's work in regards to the way that she uses the environment to create the fairytale more, while Gome enhances the environments. The photography is inspiring so simple but the edge of the fantasy is still clearly there to be its theme, the way that she photographs as well makes the work that much more interesting to the eye. Showing once again that there is a business out there for this type of work.

Researching again in the UK this time for Fairytale Wedding Photographers led me to this website

The work that I found on her blog and website are focused on the couple and the way they are portrayed in a fairytale way but also capturing their perfect day along with all the events that happened within it.

I will send this photographer a email asking about work experience and express the love I have for fairytale photography and the way that her work has shown me that I can bring my own flare into wedding photography. I will explain why I am asking for work experience along with where I am from (UCS) to see if there is any chance that I will be able to gain at least one day of work experience with herself.
Looking into the wedding photography that I have has showed me that there is a market for my photography that I enjoy; but there is also a market for it within weddings which I also enjoy photographing. Just with researching these three wedding photographers that I have I am able to see that there is a select few out there who do photograph weddings in such a themed way but there is also room for one more.

JO AND DANNY
“My wife and I began planning our wedding in about April 2012 and by June we were in a position where we had our date booked with the Chapel and with our reception venue and so began looking around for a photographer to capture the events of the day.
Because we had decided to get married in December and in a chapel that had no electricity we were concerned that the lighting level within the chapel would be very low and so looked for a photographer who was equipped to deal with these conditions. Our other main consideration was that we did not want the usual 60 picture album that most wedding photographers offer. Instead we wanted a DVD containing all of the images that were taken throughout the day.
In June we began talking to a few photographers who we had mainly found on the internet. Iain was very quick to respond to my emails and was keen to meet us to discuss our needs in person and so we arranged a time and date where he came to our house. On our first meeting Iain appeared to be very professional and answered all of our questions fully and confidently. We felt comfortable talking to him and decided quite soon after he left the house that we wanted to use him to photograph our wedding day.
Our second meeting with Iain was in November, a couple of weeks before our wedding day. We met him at our chapel and then took him to the reception venue so as to show him both locations and to discuss his and our ideas for pictures. Iain was very excited about the locations that we had chosen and very enthusiastic about the ideas he was having for potential photos. Joanne had been looking on the internet at arty wedding photos and so had several ideas of her own that she wanted Iain to try and capture on the day. Some of Joanne’s ideas where quite unconventional but Iain was very keen to try them out as well as offering his own take on what she was asking. We left the second meeting feeling extremely happy with our choice of photographer and very confident that we were going to get some great pictures.
Our wedding day was on the 7th December 2012 and it was a very wet and windy day. Iain arrived first at our house and began taking pictures with Joanne and her wedding party straight away. During the ceremony Iain remained at the front of the chapel and took some great pictures of both us and our guests. Following the ceremony we decided that it was too cold and windy to ask the guests to stand outside and so Iain came up with some ideas for group shots within the chapel and with Joanne and I alone around the chapel grounds. Iain was very good at adapting his ideas and techniques to fit with the changing weather conditions on the day.
Once we arrived at the reception venue Iain helped us arrange some more group photos within the venue itself, he also came up with some great ideas for staged shots of Joanne and I, some of which involved Iain getting very cold and quite wet. Throughout the day Iain blended in with our guests really well. He was so un-intrusive and friendly that most people didn’t even realise he was there for the most part.
To me Iain is a very professional and very talented photographer. When he wasn’t taking photos he was thinking about interesting photo opportunities and when he had one he would come running over to us, really excited and tell us to follow him. Iain is very passionate and excited about his ideas and about his trade and this really carries through in the images that he produces.
We are both so incredibly happy with our choice to use Iain as our wedding photographer and are simply amazed at some of the beautiful images he produced for us.”
Essex Wedding – December 2012
Reading through all the comments he receives makes me realize that there is a business out there that you can create fantasy photography in a wedding scenario. Gome has showed me that there is an audience for people who want this type of photography, his photographs are loved by all his clients. This client tab is the one I thought was most telling because they describe the meetings and day he did for them. Having the client section where people have written review for him will let him show further clients what he is about and how happy people are with the work he creates as well as the way he works to.

This is the work experience that I have just applied for through GoThinkBig.co.uk. The website has loads of work experience offers all over the country and is easy for applying as well. When signing up you have to upload your cv and photographs that you have taken in regards to the experience that you apply for, but overall I would say this website helped me out alot. Especially with having a light at the end of the tunnel with somewhere to look in regards to work experience. Hopefully I will hear back from the people who run the organisation, if not there is a contact email that I can enquire about specific work experience.

Making a domain name and claiming it for 4 years.
I brought my domain name for my website ready for my upgrade for my wix website next week, so when I upgrade my website to be my own instead of wix I will have my own name in the bar. I will hopefully hear back from UK2 in the next couple of days to confirm my order, for now though I know that renlove.co.uk is now mine.

Work Experience
I am yet to hear back from any of the people that I have emailed about a work experience placement. I will begin to research on the best methods to ask/enquire about work experience. If there is a best way to set out an email with enquiring. I believe that if I try out a different method to my emails I may have a better approach, instead of sending a email that does not sound professional. I would prefer to have a decent email to then follow up with a phone call with, to achieve this I will research and look into the best way to enquire and layout a professional email. With doing so I hope that I will then receive a reply from one of my work experiences placements that I have chosen to contact.
No luck just of yet, but I will continue to search for the appropriate placement over summer.

Still View - Work Experience
Researching some more into work experience, I started to look for places that are closer to home. I came across a photography studio who is is based in Ipswich, who photograph people to interiors for magazines. Looking through their photographs they are creatively composed presenting objects, people and food as a lure for magazines. The photographs are all taken in colour which would accentuate the magazine gloss style for promotion of the products.
I like the look of this company a lot, they look professional and state the companies that they work for with on their website. I think I could learn a lot from the company in terms of other jobs I could go into after university, thinking about photographing products for magazines.
I have contacted the company through email and hope to be hearing back from them in the next few days. I have not heard anything else from the previous companies that I have contacted in regards to work experience. I am hoping that this studio will be different, although with them being locally it would be easier for me to get in contact with them different ways.

Work Expereince at More Magazine
I have sent off an application for work experience at more magazine, based in London. They gave me an application which I also added a short covering letter with, just to state that I am a student from the university. Luckily I have been reading the magazine for a couple of years now so I have a little incite to the magazine; which is what half of the questions covered. Although they asked me about which area I would be interested in I was required to know about the magazine as a whole. Further research on the magazine and they way they work will be required if I do end up with a chance at having work experience with them. Hopefully I will be hearing from them soon, to know if I have a chance.
Contact infomation updated
I've added in my email address so that people can contact me, its an email address that I made before making this website; I am unsure now whether I will get an email with the website once I start paying. If I do I think I will have to buy one of the larger packs for the website build, if so I wont be able to make my domain my own until during the easter holiday; because of the expenses. Although for now I feel that I have an appropriate email address that is professional enough to fill in the gap before being able to have my own.
Updating my website with Situated Practice
Today I finally got around to scanning in my situated practice model. The quality after scanning are not great especially being the file size of jpeg; but overall I happy that they are finally on show. When writing about the work and what it was about, I included my collaborator and explained about how the drawings were her creation. I am pleased with my final images now that I have seen that the outcome has shown perfectly what I was trying to explain within my first ideas; especially with the help of my collaborator who really brought home the ideal that I was trying to portray.
My website is finally coming together well and has three sets of work displayed now, narrative, situated practice and the wedding that I did last summer 2012. There is a connection between my narrative and situated and the wedding shows my other interests within photography; along with another job that I have done.
Updating from my work experience hunt, I still have not had a reply from the photographer who I contacted about helping out with a wedding. It has only been a few days, so I hope to hear by the end of next week; Gome photography seems to be a respectable busy business. This may require me to follow up with an phone call, just to check that my email went through.
Connie Days Website
Looking through Days website, it is easy to navigate through the photographs and through the categories of photographs. There are grids of photographs spread out onto two pages, set within a category set. The images are blown up in size when clicked on, with the writing underneath the imagery; stating the title and date.
The background of the website is black, so the pictures that are on white background stand out to the viewer. Looking through each different website most websites have white backgrounds when they have dark or colourful photos. Although this website has a dark background so that the white background photos stand out against the dark background.
Days website has all about her exhibits as well as a biography about herself and her work, giving an insight to her fans to her working life style. I think this works well on a website because the viewer then becomes more connected with the photographer and the work.
Overall I would say this is a successful website because of the simple layout and simple choice of colour to excentuate the photographs.

Research-Gome Photography
Reseach into Gome Photography
1) different styles that he does for clients
2) the creative style that he creates for clients is the main reason I fell in love with Gomes work; the difference that he creates instead of basic images.
3) environments that are fairytale based/fantasy related as weddings are meant to be magical.
4) dedicated to the clients and what they want.
5) research into the site and how he portrays himself to his clients.
In regards to website building, I would take this website as an example also because of the simplicity and honesty that the photographer portrays. Telling the clients what he gains from photo shoots, what he likes in photographs as well as all about himself on the site. Before people employ him to photograph their wedding they know everything about him before phoning. The client would then trust the photographer more for their own wedding, along with the back up of reviews from other happy couple clients. This is because he has laid his cards on the table before their official meeting. The website has at the bottom of the pages labelled contact and about with a contact form; a quick and easy way for clients to tell him what they need from him and a price.
The simplicity of the website layout is easy to use, the photographs in the sections are in grids as well as enlargements of each photographs once clicked onto. Which allows the viewer to look at all the images as a whole but also as a single photograph. The honesty of the website is something that I will consider for my website, if I choose to have my website based as a selling point.

Website Update
Updating my website to add more wedding photographs that I took over the Summer of 2012. I uploaded these images because of the love that the couple have, I like them more than just a documentation of their wedding day. Researching into other wedding photographers such as London Wedding Photographer|Gomes Photography. Looking through his photographs they are completely different from the stereotypical, normal images; this are classed as wedding photographs.
Since looking further into his work I have grown to like his work even more, because of the difference that he takes on clients wedding day; the fantasy based environments provide more to the photographs. With the growing interest within his work I am beginning to consider asking him if I could possibly work with him over summer; for valuable work experience, in a topic that interests me as well as a different take on 'normal' images. My next steps will be to get into contact with Gomes Photography to see if they would be able to take me on for work experience, after doing research into the company and photographer; so I know all about what the company strive for.

William Eggleston Website Research
Looking at Eggleston's website I have looked up the site on my phone, to see how the layout differs from a laptop or tablet. The layout works well and the images are clear to see even if they are at a small size. The only problem being that you have to zoom in to read any of the writing on the front page; I think I would want my site to be clear on all forms, if possible. His website as an overall is very easy to use and clear in regards to where to look for each piece of work. His work is also grouped together when you look at the images, I like the way this flows because you end up looking the images together; as he wanted them. instead of looking at them separately, although the option is there if chosen; because of the freedom by being able to zoom in on the images. Although my website will have low resolution images, I would want to make sure that you can zoom in on my images to be able to see my images clearly; especially if there is small detail.

Congratulations!
Even though I had real trouble with Wix, and I got really confused; I persevered with the site and finally got my site up and running. I have chosen just to keep the site as the free version for now, just while I am in the progress of uploading more photographs; along with sorting out other details such as email addresses.
The images that I have uploaded so far are my narrative brief, along with photographs from a wedding I did last year; located in lifestyle. I also put onto the site a few images from a promo shoot I did for a friend last year who is trying to become a Gym Model. I feel happy that I have my website up and running, I feel more motivated to get my work up and on the site asap; wanting to show more.
My website needs alot of work but the start is the beginning to making it better, with the more work I do the more I can upload and update my website. All the research that I have done on Photographer's websites are updated along with the work that they create throughout the year; keeping people updated and interested in their work. This is something that I aspire to when creating my website because this is where I believe photographers keep their fans updated and interested.
Website Building.
I'm finding wix confusing to understand as its not very clear in terms of telling you prices or what they can offer you in a package. The other sites are clear on what they are trying to sell you, along with telling you what you will have when buying a certain package. They just follow through and dont tell you anything till you sign up and start making your website. Although I really do like the design on the right hand side of the cut that I have taken from the website; I think this is what I will want my website to look like.
Working through the website I started creating my website although I dont understand why the payment is being brought up in dollars. The confusion of the site has be questioning the safety of making the website and paying for the use of my domain.
After creating the site so far I have decided to leave it for today and look at it tomorrow with a fresh mind, because of the constant stress of trying to get the site sorted; I feel that I am overlooking the obvious answers. Although overall I have decided that this is the website to go with, once I understand it properly.

Work experience - Annie Leibowitz
Over the past couple of modules Annie Leibowitz has been a real inspiration to me and my work, as I love the work she creates in regards to fairy tales and non-reality. Such extravagant scenes and sets that create photography that looks as if its been taken from a dream, this is the work that I personally would like to create in further years of my photography.
In regards to work experience I started researching for Annie Leibowitz to see about getting work experience with her, although on my travels I came across a website/blogg from an intern who was about to work with her team. I started my research here to see what to expect from such an big photographer, what the intern would entail if I was lucky enough to get anywhere close to working with or for her team.
The second photograph is from his follow up post about how good the experience was along with how nice Leibowitz was to him in regards to being a new becoming photographer. Reading through this blog, has made me want to stretch further in regards to getting a good work placement; going the extra mile for a better experience. In regards to reading this blogg I am now currently rewriting my Vogue application, writing an email draft to send to Leibowitz; hoping for the same luck as this intern.

Narrative Project.
My first brief - Narrative.
Choosing an email I created this piece of work from a H&M email advertising a new clothing line that was coming out in the next month (Jan 2013). The email allowed me to work with fairytales because of the unrealistic image that advertised the clothing line, fairytales being my topic of interest to work with.
I named each of the photographs after a piece of clothing that was taken from the H&M catalogue for spring 2013, the catalogue names represented the email in terms of fashion; although I recreated a fashion through fairytales.
These photographs will be my first images that will be put onto my website. I hope to keep the same theme with all my photographs that I will upload, the consistency of images will show where my interests lye. Although I will add other photographs of different briefs and interests to show the broadness of my photography.
Choosing an email I created this piece of work from a H&M email advertising a new clothing line that was coming out in the next month (Jan 2013). The email allowed me to work with fairytales because of the unrealistic image that advertised the clothing line, fairytales being my topic of interest to work with.

MoonFruit - template examples
These are three templates that I liked the most of the site. They are clear with photographs although I would worrying with the surfing template due to a photograph being behind my other photographs. The one with the woman sat down is probably my favourite because it has a clearer background for my images to be displayed on.
MoonFruit Website Maker - Research
Looking into MoonFruit the first thing that is brought up with the site is the pricing. They have three prices that can be paid monthly or annually, with lots of different themes and designs you can choose. The difference being standard, plus and max, the main difference being the storage space that you have within the site. The picture below shows the three categories that you can choose from, the lowest price being £15.
The site is also really good in terms of in case you need help. There is a help guide that allows you to download PDFs to read and find out what you can do with the help you need. The questions that are most frequently asked can be found within this guide, which is helpful with knowing that there is an outcome to needed help.
Terms and conditions are found below in the images. The piece that I print screened is the first statements that are told to the user before making the website with them. The only problem, is that you have to go find the information yourself. Although the terms and conditions are clear and not that hard to find, if wanted to.
I will consider using this website maker because it is clear and easy to use and follow. This is what I need when making such a complicated website, in terms of work load uploading.

Hand made books: presentation idea.
"I've had a few people ask me how to make these little notebooks. Similar to the Moleskine mini-notebooks (which are sold in a pack of three for around $10), these hand-bound notebooks can be made using inexpensive card stock and plain old printer paper. Since I can't give individual lessons to everyone, here's a simple how-to."
I looked into cheap and easy ways to make home made books, although I kept my research close to blogs. This is because people are more likely to put creative new ideas that aren't popular on blogs, home made tasks at home. With doing so I found this site, which showed how to do sewn hand crafted note books. The link is in he tab. I have added photos below to show to some existent what they do to create these books.

Portfolio print box research
Over the last couple of days I've been visiting my collaborator in London, and we went into a art shop called Pullingers. They sell cheaper art products to customers, in there I found print boxes for £35 starting price. The quality of the boxes were good although I wouldn't know unless buying the product. I looked online for the box that I found in the shop, which is below. I haven't fully decided whether I wanted to have my work in a box because my worked is based on fairy tales. Although the print boxes would work well with keeping all my work together instead of separated into categories.

Work Placement Research: Summer 2013 - Vogue!
I found out that Vogue had contact details for work experience, so I sent them an application and a covering letter. Although now opening the email now, the layout has taken away half of my images that I sent over; probably effecting my chances of being contacted. In regards to now finding this out I will be sending another email, with attached a better file.
This is what I had together so far...
....
My name is Lauren Parker and I am 20 years old and studying at University Campus Suffolk, studying Photography. I am looking for work experience for over 2013, hopefully to work alongside or help a Vogue Photographer. My aim is to be a fashion photographer; I have been interested in Vogue Photography for years; mainly because of the dream effect that they give, but purified.
If I was able to get a placement with yourselves I would gain so much from working alongside your photographers, by getting to grips with how to be a great fashion photographer. The experience would push me further to better myself over my last remaining year at University before leaving to try for full apprenticeship.
My interests in photography are fashion based, Tim Walker and his work has been very inspiring to me because of the Way he works as well as they way he creates such different worlds. My work is very much involved around creating new environments; dreams along with myths and legends are my main influence currently. Due to the constant feed of fiction classic stories that our fed to us for years.
....
Hopefully with an edit this will be a better statement and I will have a better chance. Looking into Vogue I have thought about how I will get to the placement as the closest establishment is in London. I thought about staying with family who live on the outskirts of London, which will then only cost me to travel into London centre; the work experience can be done quite cheaply.
I've also found that they do work placements after graduation, along with work experience. With the work experience they can offer 2/3 weeks work experience. Although you have to apply at least 6 months in advance; causing a small problem for me, unless I am lucky enough to get work experience in August.
I also looked at a website that interviewed a woman named Leisa Barnett about how she got into working for Vogue; as well as how to be prepared for luck, how to recognise an opportunity. The website is tagged within the label of this post. The interview presented useful because she described how she didn't start off straight for Vogue but got the lucky break by knowing when was her best opportunity. To me I found this useful.

Website Research - Wolfgang
The image below is a snap shot from Tillman's website, the first image you see is of his recent exhibit this year at the end of January. The website is plain once again like Walker's so all the focus is on the photograph and not the background. The writing on the page is small and insignificant to the page unless the viewer requires more information about the exhibit or the year produced. The site is easy to use in regards to each subtitle as all the viewer needs to do is scold down the page once they have selected the subtitle that they require to look at. All the images are centre to the page so the image is the clear focus and the first initial thing that the eye is drawn to when opening the page.
In regards to ease and access I would think about creating my website in such a way, due to the ease that the viewer has by only scrolling down the page to view more. There is no numbers along the bottom of the photos in regards to page numbers, allowing the viewer to freely look through without the control of the website.

Researching into other Photographer's websites.
I have started looking at websites where I'm interested, the first website that I have looked at is Tim Walker's website. His website is easy to use as well as easy to navigate, to where you need to be or go. There is a list tab at the side on every page allowing the viewer to gain access to all parts of the site easily. The colour scheme of the site is neutral so that the photographs stand out against the writing and the background, also letting the viewer only focus on the image at that time.
The pictures at the bottom of the page allows the viewer to look through all the photographs quickly and effectively without getting lost; they still have the side bar with all the different tabs so they can look through at easy access but still have the other photos I front of them before moving on.
The photo that I have uploaded is of two screen shots, the top left one is of the home page which you click into and the second on the right is one of his recent work images of Kate Moss. With the tab on the far left hand side and with the bottom tab in view as well; to show both aspects of the website in one.
I like this website because it is simple and easy to use, the plain canvas also means that his I ages are more inviting to the eye. This is because it stands out more to the viewer than the rest of the website; I believe this is the way a website should be because you don't want the website over powering the images.

Task 2 - Blogg
Creating a blogg.
Keeping up to date with everything that I am going to be doing from now onwards to do with Professional Practice. I will be posting all of my research onto this blogg about other Photographer's websites along with also smaller tasks that are handed out by my lecturers in the next few months.
My current to do list for this blogg:
- email my teacher with my blogg
- start researching Photographer's websites, that I like the look of; and will inspire too.
- think about what photographs I want to be on my website.
- the main content that I want my website to contain, as well as what I want my work to show and what it is for; in regards to what I want to gain.

Art School Graduate – Life After Graduation
So you’re an art school graduate. How will life after college be different for you, and what should you expect personally and professionally? ArtSchool looks at life after graduation and some of the things you may not be expecting.
Social Media for Art School Graduates – Social media was a great way for you to stay connected with friends and family while you were in art school, but as you begin to seriously look for a career, some of your posts and pictures may give a future employer the wrong idea. But don’t worry, the answer isn’t to “go dark”; just clean up your act a little. Set privacy settings a little higher, and get rid of the really racy stuff.
Being an Art School Graduate Doesn’t = Job – Ok, so you have the degree and the training that look good on a resume, but that doesn’t mean employers are going to be beating down your door to give you money. You need to do some legwork, and you need to be prepared to wait for the right job to come around. It would be great if there was a great job waiting for everyone right after college, but to get the position you want, you may need to put in some time, play the field, and sometimes wish for a little luck.
Life After Graduation and Getting Insurance – You have probably never had to give much thought to health insurance, but once you are done with art school you will have to. In most situations you will have to find insurance on your own, which is expensive when you are paying out of pocket. Make getting insurance a priority, and ask about it when you are applying for jobs. You may feel young and invincible, but your health is not something to take a chance on.
Life After College Friends – You made friends for life while you were at art school; well at least you thought you did. There will be a small group (maybe only one person) that you keep in touch with, but you will find that as you move into the professional ranks, you have less and less in common with some of the friends you hung out with in art school. It’s a new stage in your life, so don’t be afraid to meet some new people.
Being an Art School Graduate and Other Goals – For a long time your primary goal has been to graduate from art school. Ok, you did it, now its time to set some new goals to re-motivate yourself for the next stage of you life. Many graduates run into a one-year funk a year after graduating because they have not set new goals and begun to pursue them.
Get Some Sleep Art School Graduates – One of the biggest adjustments for art school graduates is becoming accustomed to the hours kept in the real world. The days of getting up at noon are over, so get used to early mornings, starting the day productively, and maybe acquiring a taste forStarbucks.
Busy Life After Graduations – One of the biggest surprises for recent graduates is how much there is to being a grownup with a job. Between work, bills, eating, sleeping, and cleaning there is not a ton of time for just hanging out. New graduates need to make sure that they make time for themselves, and realize that a lot can be done in a weekend – so get to it.
